Lakers vs. Thunder: Live Updates & Highlights

The Oklahoma City Thunder hosted the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday in their third matchup of the season. OKC had won both previous meetings, including a victory on February 9th.

Heading into the game, the Thunder (60-16) were coming off a hard-fought 114-110 overtime win against the Detroit Pistons on Monday, powered by a stunning 47-point performance from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who went 21-of-25 from the free-throw line. The Lakers (50-26), meanwhile, had won four straight and sat firmly in third place, most recently defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers 127-113 on Tuesday.

End of 1st Quarter — Thunder 43, Lakers 21

Pure domination from Oklahoma City. The Thunder forced turnovers on nearly every other possession while knocking down three-pointers at will. Gilgeous-Alexander led with 8 points and 4 assists, while Dort exploded for 14 points on four three-pointers. At one point, the Lakers had just one made field goal and eight turnovers.

End of 1st Half — Thunder 82, Lakers 51

An extraordinary halftime score. OKC controlled the game from the opening tip, shooting 60% from the field. Gilgeous-Alexander had 21 points, Dort 14, and Jalen Williams added 10 points and 6 assists. The Lakers, meanwhile, had already committed 11 turnovers.

End of 3rd Quarter — Thunder 112, Lakers 67

A complete blowout. The Thunder continued to extend their lead even as the pace slowed. The only concern was a scary fall by Dort, though he walked to the locker room under his own power.
